The MGC and its three licensees are engaged in preliminary discussions about the development of reopening guidelines.
EVERETT (CBS) – Encore Boston Harbor announced its plans for reopening with coronavirus protections on Monday, though no date has been decided yet for business to return. The Boston area’s only full casino plans to reopen this month. Encore Boston Harbor in Everett announced Thursday that it intends to open back up on Sunday, July 12, pending approval of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. MGM Springfield, the state’s other full casino, plans to open the following day. The state will enter Phase 3 of its reopening process Monday. Encore Boston Harbor announced furloughs for 3,000 employees as the Everett casino awaited the start of the state’s third reopening phase to resume its casino operations and dining services.

VOTE: The Commission voted unanimously to extend the temporary closure of the state’s three casino properties until at least June 1, given the current circumstances and pending forthcoming guidance from Governor Baker and the state’s Restart Advisory Board.
